On Saturday, June 25th, I had the distinct honor of attending Medical Medium Live in Cromwell, Connecticut with my mother. Upon first impression, I was happy to be surrounded by likeminded people (read: spiritual). We stood in line, and the women behind me were talking about Abraham Hicks. What a breath of fresh air! Although I do have a couple in-person spiritual friends, the great bulk of my spiritual conversations occur with my internet buddies. I was happy to be in the presence of the spiritual community.
So, what is Medical Medium? Well, it is a book by Anthony Williams, the self-proclaimed Medical Medium. At a young age, Anthony was approached by “Spirit” who told him to diagnose his seemingly healthy grandmother with lung cancer. Shortly after, medical doctors confirmed the diagnosis. Since then, he has be in constant communication with Spirit and has diagnosed and helped thousands of people around the world with mystery illnesses such as type 2 diabetes, adrenal fatigue, and lupus. Reading Anthony’s book, I enjoyed the fact that he speaks in allopathic, modern medicine terms; however, his information goes beyond what modern science is yet able to understand, based upon what Anthony has learned from Spirit. Also, all the treatments and cures he advocates for are nutrition based, which I of course love. His book is chock full of information; each chapter is devoted to a disease, where it actually stems from as well as how to heal with detailed information regarding proper diet. In part IV, “How to Finally Heal,” Anthony talks about further information regarding proper health that anyone can benefit from. In this section, he also includes a chapter about a 28-Day Healing Cleanse as well as another chapter on soul-healing meditations and techniques and one more on angels. In this regard, he demonstrates a body-mind-soul approach.
Back to the event. Anthony began his talk by speaking about stress and purpose. If you have stress, you have purpose in this life. Listening to him, I did not necessarily resonate with this idea because I do believe it is possible to transmute stress and to live life “in the flow.” However, upon later talking to my mom, I understood what he had to say from another perspective. My mom took his stress ideas more in the concept of duality. We come to this plane to experience duality: dark and light, good and bad. We undergo hardships to get to where we wanted all along. In this sense, I can agree with what he had to say.
Next, Anthony spoke more about medicine and disease diagnoses (and misdiagnoses). There are some Great Mistakes in modern medicine, he says. Number one: autoimmune diseases. The concept of autoimmune diseases is that for some unknown reason, the body is attacking itself and healthy tissue. As for Great Mistake number two: genetics. Modern science commonly attributes a host of diseases to genetics. Patients are then left feeling like they have “bad genes,” like their body again does not have their best interest at heart. In both the cases of autoimmune diseases and genetics, modern science blames the patients’ bodies for their poor health. From a spiritual perspective, this is quite sad! If you are diagnosed with and believed to have either autoimmune disease or genetic disorder, you are ultimately left feeling like you cannot trust your body. Your body has forsaken you and does not have your best interest at heart. But what if this is just one big misconception? What if the body is actually fighting pathogens that are not yet able to be seen by modern medicine? What Anthony offers is a new view of mystery disease. Our bodies love us unconditionally. They are fighting for us! To a lesser extent, he says that the theory behind inflammatory foods and the anti-inflammatory diet is a third mistake. An anti-inflammatory diet may help a condition, but it does not deal with the underlying cause of a disease, such as these hidden pathogens he talks about.
So, what is actually causing mystery illness? If you are familiar with Anthony’s work, you will know he talks a great deal about Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and the more than sixty strains he has seen in various patients. Anthony is a medical intuitive, so he can literally “see” disease in patients. According to Anthony, many modern diseases are caused by an advanced form of EBV, but not everything is Epstein Barr, he says. Diseases may be causes by chemical sensitivities, radiation, heavy metal toxicity, or other pathogens, bacterial or viral. Genetically modified foods are another triggering factor for disease. They may not be harmful enough to cause disease on their own, but they will trigger an already compromised immune system in an already suffering body.
So, how do we heal, and what are some basic foods we should all be consuming to further our health and healthy lifestyles? Anthony suggests that first, we realize that our bodies are not out to get us. They love us unconditionally. How powerful is that? They have our best interest at heart. Also, we can adapt to our conditions. Everyone is exposed to heavy metals, radiation, viruses, and bacteria. Unless you are consuming a 100 percent organic diet, chances are, you are exposed to GMO foods as well. There are foods that, if consumed every day, can help our bodies adapt to these harsh conditions. Anthony suggests 16 ounces of fresh celery juice a day. The celery juice literally pulls out radiation and heavy metals from our bodies. Wild blueberries (different from regular blueberries), lemon balm, and nettle leaf tea are adaptogenic as well. In terms of supplements, Anthony suggests adenosylocobalamin B12 and zinc. This special form of B12 is crucial to our survival of our species, he says, while zinc is rarely found in nature except for in pumpkin seeds. Most people are zinc deficient, Anthony claims.
Along with these remedies from nature, Anthony also suggests that faith plays a key role in our ability to adapt. Why? Well, faith restores our ability to trust, to trust that everything is okay, to trust that everything is in divine alignment, and to trust that there is more to our journeys on earth. At this point in the lecture, Anthony spoke about angels and their invocation. They are here to help us, he claims, if only we allow them to.
After a long, two-hour lunch break, we all returned for a series of four meditations. Next, came perhaps the most fascinating and faith-inducing part of the event: the live reads. Twenty people were chosen at random to receive a live read by Anthony with the help of Spirit. I enjoyed watching these live reads and his spiritual abilities at work. He was always spot on with his diagnoses, yet he was able to go beyond what the individuals already knew. He also gave specific dietary recommendations to help clear and cure their ailments. This part of the whole day was perhaps the most nitty gritty, packed with medical and dietary information. I took notes on each individual, what their ailments were along with how to treat, what to eat and what not to eat. The conditions ranged from type 2 diabetes, which is actually an underlying liver condition, according to Anthony, to chemical sensitivities to nerve conditions to chronic fatigue. Many conditions are viral or bacterial, and there are many health foods and herbs which are antiviral or antibacterial.
Overall, I enjoyed my day. I even met Organic Olivia, a popular Instagrammer that regularly posts about health, wellness, and the body. I did gauge, however, that Anthony caters to a specific group of people. For those he reaches, he is a literal miracle worker. For someone like me who is in general good health, he is but another spiritual perspective. I came to learn, and learn I did. I did sense an overall unanswered question. Everyone is exposed to heavy metals, radiation, and pathogens, yet only some people are chronically ill. Why is this? Is this due to emotional health and wellbeing, pre-birth intentions? I say yes, yes. This is my journey, and Medical Medium Live has provided another key step forward so that I may learn all I can to better serve my community.
With love and light,
